Features in Detail
Streaming Responses
Bolt streams responses in real time — you see words appear as they're generated. No waiting for the full answer before reading. This is especially useful during check-in reviews between back-to-back sessions.
PAR-Q Awareness
Bolt knows the UK PAR-Q screening process. When you share a client's PAR-Q responses, Bolt can:
- Flag answers that require GP clearance before training
- Suggest exercise modifications for disclosed health conditions
- Draft a follow-up message to the client explaining the screening outcome
- Remind you when a client's PAR-Q is approaching its 12-month expiry
Bolt supports your judgement — it does not replace it. PAR-Q interpretation and medical clearance decisions remain the trainer's professional responsibility. Bolt can help you organise information and prompt the right questions, but qualified clinical assessment belongs with a medical professional.
CIMSPA Alignment
Bolt's programme design advice follows CIMSPA (Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity) standards. It references:
- Level 3 PT competency frameworks for exercise selection and client communication
- Safe exercise-to-music principles for group fitness formats
- Duty of care obligations for vulnerable and high-risk populations
Session Notes from Voice Input
After a session, describe what happened in plain language — Bolt formats it into a professional session note ready to attach to the booking record. Example:
"Client did squats, bench press, and rows. All 3 sets at the target weight. Said they felt strong. Left early — wanted to collect kids."
Bolt returns:
Session note — [Date] Client completed scheduled compound lifts: squat, bench press, and barbell row. All exercises performed at prescribed loads across 3 sets. Client reported feeling strong throughout. Session finished 10 minutes early at client's request (personal commitment). No injuries or technique concerns noted. Recommend progressing squat load by 2.5kg next session.

Tips for Best Results
- Include PAR-Q context. When asking Bolt for a programme, share what the client disclosed — Bolt will adapt accordingly
- Be specific about goals. "3x/week strength, wants to run a 5K by August" gives much better output than "get fit"
- Use it for check-in triage. Paste your client's weekly check-in and ask "what should I prioritise today?" before the session
- Iterate programmes. Don't treat Bolt's first programme as final — give it client feedback and ask for adjustments
- Draft, don't copy verbatim. Use Bolt's session notes as a starting point and add your own clinical observations
Troubleshooting
Q: Bolt isn't generating a programme for my client. What's wrong? A: Check that you've given Bolt enough context — goal, training days per week, available equipment, and any health flags from the PAR-Q. The more context, the better the output.
Q: Can Bolt help with rehabilitation programmes? A: Bolt can suggest exercise modifications for common musculoskeletal conditions within PT scope of practice. It will flag anything that falls outside PT scope and recommend GP or physio referral.
Q: My client asked a medical question. Can Bolt answer it? A: Bolt will provide general fitness and lifestyle information. For clinical or diagnostic questions, it will recommend the client speaks to their GP or a registered healthcare professional.
Q: Can I share Bolt's session notes with my clients? A: Yes — copy or export the session note and send it via the Messages tab. Some trainers send a post-session summary directly from the note.
